Combining environmental stewardship with collaborative creative expression, “The Trash Sessions" consisted of a series of community workshops taking place at a local nature reserve. These sessions began by inviting participants on a group litter-picking walk through the reserve, followed by a collaborative art-making activity, using the collected litter as raw materials.
Together, participants created a unique ‘trash art’ piece, transforming discarded objects into an assemblage. This collaborative creation reflected on both the physical and aesthetic impact of waste in common spaces, and reframed these discarded objects by exploring the potential for beauty and value in what is often overlooked.
